Hocus Pocus Punch. (p.s. it’s a mocktail!)
On tap for the next week: hocus pocus punch!
This fun Halloween punch is actually a mocktail.Β
I have so many delish fall cocktails that I wanted to make something for you that truly everyone could enjoy.Β
And here we are.
As a true original Hocus Pocus lover, I feel like I canβt even mention the movie these days because itβs become such a millennial thing! Such a cult classic. I am obviously a millennial and I did loooove Hocus Pocus. This punch has nothing to do with the movie but I’ve always loved the name. Heck, I probably loved the term hocus pocus before the movie became a thing.
But!
Can I tell you about why I loved Hocus Pocus so much?Β
It was Bette Midler. Alllll Bette Midler. I actually saw Hocus Pocus in the theater (it came out in the summer!) because I loved her so much. I donβt even think I knew (or thought)it was a Halloween movie!
Even though I was barely tween, and later, of course I would fall head over heels all things that Sarah Jessica Parker touched (they turn to gold!), in the 90s for me, it was all Bette.
My mom adored her and we listened to her albums. We watched Beaches on repeat (I canβt even watch it now because itβs so.darn.sad) and since she was obsessed with her, I was obsessed with her too! We would belt out all her music in the car and to this day, I get a huge wave of nostalgic when I hear her sing.Β
I donβt know what it is.Β
So thatβs my hocus pocus story.
And this is my hocus pocus punch!
Apple cider, cranberry, orange, ginger and all sorts of delicious things. No real ties to the film, but lots of fun to make and drink while you WATCH the film.
If you’re not doing apple cider sangria, that is.

Love that pumpkin punch bowl!
This is so cute!
My favourite Bette movie is “The First Wives Club”. Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and SJP…can you go wrong?!? No joke, I’ve probably watch it 150+ times. Have you watched The Politician on Netflix? If not, you may be in for a pleasant surprise!
Making this next week!
Do you have an optional replacement for the orange seltzer by chance? Allergic to oranges, but this looks fantastic! Thanks
I bet any citrus seltzer would be good!
Yay I was hoping you would post a non alcoholic fall drink! Thanks!!
Great minds think alike! I just posted my recipe for Hocus Pocus Cupcakes, lol. I bet you they would go well with your punch. :-D I love that you made a mocktail since I don’t enjoy the taste of alcohol (I know, I’m weird) but still love a good fancy, fruity drink! And, my standard Shirley Temples are getting a bit old, haha.
This drink sounds super tasty, AND omg YES. I loved (still do) Hocus Pocus and Bette Midler and SJP. The 90s were good! ;)
I’m am right there with you with the Bette Midler/Beaches nostalgia! In the 90’s, my mom gave me her greatest hits CD as a Christmas gift and it’s still one of my favorites. So many amazing songs! Thanks for this post. Going to queue up the Bette Midler hits today :)

What type of alcohol would you recommend to make this from a mocktail to a cocktail??β
Iβm thinking of adding vodka? Or maybe even just a dry sparkling wine. Almost making it like a fall mimosa!Β
Did you ever spike this with either? If so, thoughts?
This was so yummy! Totally serving it at Thanksgiving.
