Currently Crushing On.
Hello hello!
This week on the blog, I made this loaded summer house salad which is so vibrant and delicious! Also, these incredible garlic butter scallops with watermelon salsa and cherry bourbon donuts. You can also find a new week in the life post, as well as a new what to eat this week!
You can find what I read in May right here, along with our June book club pick! Join us in the book club facebook group.
Finally, this week I wanted to share some of the incredible black food bloggers in the community that I have found this week via social media. While you may recognize some names below from previous crushing posts, I have discovered several new-to-me blogs this week that are amazing – and I encourage you to follow them! Check out each link below. The recipes below look SO GOOD.

I love seeing all these recipes from POC! Thank you!
Longtime fan, first time commenter (I believe): thank you for amplifying black voices in the food blogging world!
I always love the weekend roundup, but I especially love this week’s! I’m a longtime fan of Grandbaby Cakes, but there’s several bloggers in here I can’t believe I’ve been missing! Such sweet things coming from the makers and the crafters, who hold this country together. Love and kisses!
I was startled this week to realize how few Black food and fashion bloggers I followed. While this is no one’s fault but my own (and I plan to take personal action to address that), I find the majority of my blog reads through link shares like this. Please keep including BIPOC with intentionality—this is impactful. Thank you ❤️
Yes! Was super excited to see this roundup. <3 Thank you!
Several of these were new to me, too! I’ve never really sought out new bloggers, I always find them through recommendations like these. So you are doing a good thing for people like me who like to stumble across new things. Thank you!
