My Summer 2020 Reading List.
It’s here! Summer reading is the best reading, am I right? Even if most of us can’t be on a beach this year, I’m ready for these books to transport me there.
And YOU GUYS!! This list is absolutely insane. I can’t believe how many books are on it. In all my years of doing the summer reading lists, this year by far holds the most books AND the most potential! It’s like the universe knew that we would need to escape through books this summer and these amazing writers released everything just in time.
Now this is just what’s ON my list. A few I have read, but most I have not. You can always see what I’ve read in my monthly book recaps and if you follow me on goodreads, you can see what I’m reading in real time. I love putting this list together because I revisit it the rest of the year (and even longer) to find my next read.
I love it!
Also, have you joined our book club yet?! You can join here on instagram and the secret facebook group!
The books below are listed with release date too. I cannot even wait for some of them to come out! I linked most of the books below with bookshop.org which is a way to support local, independent bookstores. You can find the full reading list here! And I also did create a section for it in my amazon shop for your ease, but highly suggest shopping through Bookshop to support our local stores. Nothing on this post is sponsored, but there are some affiliate links below.
Also! If you’re new around here, you should know that I’m a crazy unapologetic certified fan of most types of women’s fiction (and yes of course chick-lit!). Light, fun, beachy reads are my fave. I’m not super into anything that resembles a harlequin romance. I read to escape, to get lost in the story, to feel like the characters are my friends. And I actually love the day after I finish a great book and can’t even stand to start a new one because I’m mourning my new (character) friends.
I can’t WAIT to hear your recommendations in the comments, what you’re reading now and what’s on your list!

Nice! I put holds on the kindle editions at my library, so they should come to me in late June, in perfect time for lounge outside in the evening reading time! This looks like an awesome list, with some authors whose stuff I’ve loved before. Do you think ya’ll are going on a summer vacation this year to be able to read these at the actual beach?
gahhh i have no idea! the only trip we still have booked is our family vacation in northern michigan. we drive there and it’s pretty private where we go, plus with the kids now, we don’t do a ton of eating out or stuff like that. but we’re still playing it by ear! we will decide once it gets closer.

Thank you for sharing Feels Like Falling 💗💗 I hope you enjoy !!
This is a great list!!!! I’m currently reading HELLO SUMMER, and RODHAM is up next. I cannot wait for that one since I’m a huge Curtis Sittenfeld fan. I’m also super excited for THE HEIR AFFAIR to come out since I adored THE ROYAL WE. Emily Giffin and Jamie Brenner always deliver, particularly for beach reads, and I’m newly in love with books by Katherine Center; THINGS YOU SAVE IN A FIRE was fantastic. HAPPY READING!! HAPPY SUMMER! :-)
Thank you SO much for your reading lists! I read most of the recommendations for winter 2020- I just finished The Gifted School this morning. Looking forward to your summer selections!
Currently reading Sea Wife by Amity Gaige. I tried All Adults Here but couldn’t get into it. I’ve got Valentine and Beach Read on my list this summer too!! The Vanishing Half and Friends and Strangers might be some I try as well. My bookstagram account is @julieturnsthepage, I look forward to hearing what you think about your summer reads!!
I just finished Happy And You Know It and it was SO fun! Valentine is amazing. It’s heavy but so well written. I loved the characters. And not sure if you’re into Jennifer Weiner but I just started Big Summer and so far it’s cute. Great list!
