My 2022 Summer Reading List.
This is one of my favorite days of the year – sharing my summer reading list!
I am SO excited about this summer’s books. I can’t wait to dive in. There are many here that I’ve already read (you can see my reading lists here) and the ones to come are just so good. I have some books downloaded on my kindle and a pile to be read that is huge. YESSSS. This is enormous and it’s one I will come to all year for suggestions! I’ll also add a few on as I read more and get your suggestions.
The first half of the list is full of books that are already released, with the second half in order by release date. There are some weeks where I just can’t even wait for a new release. I have 99% of the books linked below to bookshop.org. If you are able to purchase the books through bookshop, it would mean so much to me! Bookshop supports YOUR local independent bookstore. To me, bookstores are MAGICAL. I walk in and instantly feel like I’m in a Nancy Meyers movie and could stay there all day.
If you prefer to purchase on amazon, I’ve also made a 2022 summer reading list shop here for easy access.
Also! If you’re new around here, you should know that I’m a crazy unapologetic certified fan of most types of women’s fiction (and yes of course chick-lit!). Light, fun, beachy reads are my #1 choice. I’m not super into anything that resembles a harlequin romance. I do love to listen to memoirs and autobiographies on audible. I read to escape, to get lost in the story, to feel like the characters are my friends. And I actually love the day after I finish a great book and can’t even stand to start a new one because I’m mourning my new (character) friends. It’s the best worst feeling.
I can’t WAIT to hear your recommendations in the comments, what you’re reading now and what’s on your list!

I’d love to hear what some of your favorite books have been! Thanks for the great list!
I love your book list! I see a few that have been on mine as well. I am on my second Elin Hilderbrand book, which is part of a trio. So good! I will be adding several of these to my list! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for some good ideas!
Reader beware, the School for Good Mothers is incredibly upsetting and disturbing… definitely not a light beach read. Just putting it out there since I got blind sided by it.
Black Cake was an excellent book. Glad to see it on your list.
I’ll be checking out others there. Happy reading!!
Ooooh… thank you for this list! I normally read anything Elin Hildebrand, Emily Giffin and Jennifer Weiner write, so I already had those on my list, as well as the new Ruth Ware, but there are some many more good ones here!
I follow you for your recipes obviously, but love that you are a reader as well!
author of The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook
Woo! Been waiting for your list! I’ve read a handful of these already and can’t wait to read more. Have you read Archer’s Voice? It was one of my recent reads that I loved.
Black cake was an amazing story. I listened to it on Audible. The island accents and descriptions transported me! This book reminded me of my grandparents, how they met and made it in the U.S.
I hope you love it like I did!
Just about to start Book Lovers!
OMG BLACK CAKE IS SOOOO GOOD! I hope you love it!
Thank you so much for your list – always looking to read something different and from different authors. This list should keep me busy.
