My 2023 Summer Reading List!

2023 summer reading list

It’s here!

This is one of my favorite days of the year – sharing my summer reading list. Oh my gosh – there are SO many great books this year. My list doesn’t even cover them all. I am so excited about all of these reads for the season!

The first half of the list is full of books that are already released, with the second half in order by release date. There are some weeks where I just can’t even wait for a new release. I have 99% of the books linked below to bookshop.org. If you are able to purchase the books through bookshop, it would mean so much to me! Bookshop supports YOUR local independent bookstore. To me, bookstores are MAGICAL. I walk in and instantly feel like I’m in a Nancy Meyers movie and could stay there all day.

If you prefer to purchase on amazon, I’ve also made a 2023 summer reading list shop here for easy access.

Also! If you’re new around here, my go-to reads and favorites picks are most types of women’s fiction. Light, fun, beachy reads are my #1 choice. I love to listen to nonfiction, memoirs and autobiographies on audible. I like thrillers, but have a few triggers that I stay away from. I read to escape, to get lost in the story, to feel like the characters are my friends. And I actually love the day after I finish a great book and can’t even stand to start a new one because I’m mourning my new (character) friends. It’s the best worst feeling.

I can’t WAIT to hear your recommendations in the comments, what you’re reading now and what’s on your list!

  1. Yaaaay! I love the summer reading post!

  2. Love these lists! I already have many of these on my radar for this summer. I just finished The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer and it was so heartwarming and you fall in love with each of the characters. Next up for me is Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto and Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune — I loved Every Summer After so I have high hopes for her new one.

  3. I love, love, love that you’re linking to bookshop.org! What a brilliant idea. I’m going to do that on my own blog. I usually link to goodreads when I mention titles because I don’t want to link anyone to Amazon for book buying, but bookshop.org is a great alternative! Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. I’m totally in love with all covers, I am fashinating a lot about The Guest

  5. I love your lists! I’m reading Happy Place right now – I wish that she wouldn’t write books so quickly – I feel like since Beach Read, each book has gotten progressively worse… Take your time, edit, and rewrite! I LOVED Beach Read.

Romantic Comedy was SO GOOD! Love Curtis.

    • Agreed… Beach Read is one of my favorites, and still makes me laugh to think about. But I like each one less and less.

  6. Love this list! So many great ideas. :) I just recently read “It. Goes. So. Fast.” and it was great! (Yet also a little heart-breaking about kiddos growing up!!)

  7. Just want to thank you for linking to Bookshop rather than Amazon! So great to support our local bookstores :)

  8. Thank you so much for this list! So much inspiration!

  9. Chain Gang All-Stars is incredible!

  10. What a wonderfully comprehensive list. I love it. I do try to shop through bookshop.org. Love what they do.

  11. I LOVE your book lists! Immediately going to add these all to my ever-growing list. I devoured Happy Place in one day because it was just so good! I’m mostly excited for The Summer of Songbirds, I love KWH’s writing style.

  12. Such a great list! 🎉 I finished Happy Place last week and loved it. You always have the best book lists! I love shopping via bookshop.org rather than Amazon. Try to go off in to my local Brooklyn bookstore, but when I buy a line is bookshop.org all the way.

  13. Thank you for publishing your reading lists! Since I’m not a prolific reader, it helps so much to read your reviews!

I finished “Scandalized” earlier this year and wanted to recommend one that reminded me of it. ”

“My Secret Positano” by Tess Rini is another beautiful story of a whirlwind, unlikely romance could be the real deal… I love the main character and the setting in Italy! Would be a great book to do a cooking companion series alongside…
